Basic Bish Wellness Challenge: 28 Days to a Healthier You

I know you want to get healthier, feel calmer and more in control, and finally, for the love of all the puppies in the world, have some freaking energy. Perhaps you've tried a lot of different diets, workouts, and other methods that just overwhelmed you or maybe you had success, but you couldn't hold on to it. That's a major pain in the 🍑, isn't it? The last thing you need is your doctor telling you again that you gotta bring down that cholesterol, chill out the cortisol, and keep an eye on that blood pressure when you're already tired, stressed, and overwhelmed.

Here's the thing: a lot of the time getting healthier gets overcomplicated and pushed to extremes that truly are not necessary, especially at this time of year when you have options left and right promising to help you lose weight, get shredded, or never need another diet!

I'm here to drop a little truth bomb...

a lot of them probably won't work.

Here's why: they'll try to get you to change too much at once, they aren't made to meet you where you're at, and if you have to purchase a weight loss shake it's probably more about getting you to keep purchasing the shake than teaching you how to successfully add healthy habits to your life.

Why is my challenge different?

Because we're starting with the BASICS. The basics are what will get you to where you want to go. If you can't nail down the basics, then you're not going to be successful with something more complicated like tracking macros, following a 6 day a week bodybuilding plan, and meal prepping like a pro every week. The basics are boring AF- I get it- especially with all the shiny new things that are on the interwebs these days- that usually promise results NOW. Our brains love the boost of dopamine we get from doing something new and interesting that also promise a quick result. Unfortunately, this doesn't bode well for the basics. Which in the long run doesn't bode well for your overall health and wellness.

And the basics DO work!

So, in comes the BASIC BISH WELLNESS CHALLENGE!!

The goal of the Basic Bish Wellness Challenge is to help you incorporate the basic healthy habits that are the foundation of any wellness goal you may have. This is perfect for you if you're a newbie OR if you've been doing this whole healthy thing for a while, but you're feeling a little rusty.

I'm gonna be real with you. Will this challenge completely change your life in 28 days? No ma'am (or sir) because completely changing your life takes time and if you want it to happen that fast, or faster, you're in for repeatedly disappointing yourself. The change comes with the process and in order to go through the process you have to stick with it consistently.

STICK WITH IT CONSISTENTLY.

"Well, if it isn't going to change my life right now what even is the point?!"

Let me tell ya! What this challenge WILL give you is the strong base you need to build up from. It's simple and will be easy to implement. All it will come down to is whether or not you decide to show up and build your solid base of wellness.

Just because it won't completely change your life right now (because, like I said, that takes time) doesn't mean nothing is happening. You will be able to notice little things like having more energy, feeling stronger, and generally just feeling better all just from consistently showing up to this 28 day challenge!

Let's talk about the details:

Each week we're going to focus on a different area...

Week 1: Move your body

Week 2: Nourish your body

Week 3: Calm your mind

Week 4: Integration and building your wellness routine

Let's break it down some more:

  • Each day there will be a challenge based on the focus for that week.

    • For example, for Week 1: Move Your Body, the first daily challenge could be to take a 10 minute walk and the next day it could be to try out a new fitness class at your gym, and so on.

  • You can do each challenge as they come up, keep doing a challenge that really resonates with you, or even add a couple challenges together (ie a 10 minute walk AND taking a new fitness class).

    • The key is to do what makes the most sense for you and YOUR life. If you don't have a gym membership, then maybe you find a new workout on YouTube instead. Maybe your day is PACKED so doing a 10 minute walk like you did for day one makes the most sense. The important thing is that you do some kind of movement-even if it's just a few minutes- and check in for accountability.

  • Another SUPER COOL thing is that I will be doing a live workout on zoom each week that anyone in the challenge can join!

  • In addition to that, I will be dropping helpful tips, journal prompts, and thought exercises throughout the challenge to help keep you checked in and accountable.

  • There will be a place for you to check in every day so that you make sure to keep showing up!

And of course, there will be chances to win PRIZES for those who show up, stretch themselves, and be ACCOUNTABLE!

If you jump into this challenge and decide to show up for yourself each day, even when you don't feel like it, and implement the strategies and tips given to you, then you WILL build a strong foundation of basics that will carry you through any wellness goals you have! You WILL feel better, have more energy, and have more confidence. And as you keep going, once the challenge is done, you will find those benefits AND MORE just keep getting better and better because you'll know how to keep to the basics and build upon them to reach your overall wellness goals.

This is one of those times when being a BASIC BISH is the BEST 😜
